Professor Leighton Vaughan Williams is Director of The Betting Research Unit (BRU) at Nottingham Business School and involved in the investigation and analysis of betting and gaming markets and issues.
He has acted as Special Adviser on taxation, regulation and the economic impacts of betting and gaming to HM Revenue & Customs, Dept. for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, National Audit Office, and on gambling behaviour, patterns, prevalence and trends to the Gambling Commission.
Professor Vaughan Williams is an experienced expert witness on betting and gaming issues and has given evidence before House of Commons/House of Lords Select Committees, the Competition Commission/Competiton and Markets Authority, and domestic and overseas courts of law, including the Central Criminal Court (‘Old Bailey’) and the Scottish Court of Session.
