Consultant Ophthalmologist, Oculoplastic Surgeon & Aesthetics

Cambridge and Harvard educated, Mr Jonathan Roos is an experienced consultant ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon now working in the private sector in Cambridge and Harley St in London, although he still provides support to NHS units when required.

Mr Roos undertakes expert witness instructions, including the preparation of medico legal reports and appearing in court, in personal injury and clinical negligence cases relating to his specialist areas of expertise. These include:

• • Cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
• • Complications of cosmetic eyelid surgery
• • Brow lift surgery
• • Periocular/orbital trauma including orbital fractures
• • Periocular/orbital (eye socket) tumours and lesions
• • Eyelid and orbital reconstructive surgery
• • Loss of an eye and eye socket reconstructive surgery
• • Artificial eye problems
• • Ptosis (drooping eyelids)
• • Entropion and ectropion
• • Thyroid eye disease
• • Watering eye problems
• • Cataract
• • Eye and eyelid problems in patients with facial palsy

Mr Roos is Bond Solon trained. Previous clients for expert reports have included an OECD government in a case concerning drug pricing. With a wife who is a leading UK solicitor he understands that solicitors look for clear and well-substantiated reports in a timely manner.

Mr Roos can take instructions on behalf of either claimant or defendant or as a Single Joint Expert. 

Mr Roos is highly published and frequently invited to lecture internationally. He is a member of the European, British and American societies of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Mr Roos does not undertake instructions in cases involving non-accidental injury.
