Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Mateen Arastu is an orthopaedic and trauma consultant with special interests in complex trauma care of multiple injured patients in the UK’s 2nd busiest trauma centre (including pelvic/acetabular and rib fracture fixation). He also performs lower limb arthroplasty (primary hip and knee replacement surgery).

He has been an active member of the UK’s Major Trauma Centre Network 22 group as a consultant trauma surgeon to help deliver high quality trauma care within the UK’s Major Trauma Network.

Mr Arastu produces medico legal reports in personal injury and clinical negligence cases and his specific areas of expertise include:

• • Polytrauma
• • Pelvic & acetabular fractures
• • Periarticular fractures (knee, ankle, wrist, shoulder and elbow)
• • Complex foot trauma
• • Open fractures
• • Rib fractures
• • Single system orthopaedic trauma

In 2019 Mr Arastu completed and passed the Cardiff University Law School Bond Solon Expert Witness Course (CUBS).
