Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Turab Syed is fellowship trained in foot and ankle surgery, hip and knee surgery, sports surgery and trauma surgery.

A clinical expert with over 25 years experience, he is an academic tutor at the University of Edinburgh for Masters (ChM) in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery, where he teaches and examines candidates. His specialist areas of expertise include:

  • Soft tissue injuries including joint dislocations, disc prolapse and whiplash
  • Fractures of the shoulder, wrist, hip, knees, long bones, foot and ankle including Lis-Franc fractures
  • Arthritis of the hip, knee, foot and ankle
  • Sports injuries, shoulder injuries including rotator cuff tears
  • Ankle and foot sprains
  • Tendon injuries, tears and degeneration
  • Ligament problems

Mr Syed undertakes expert witness work, including the preparation of medico legal reports and giving evidence in court, in personal injury cases relating to all of these conditions.

Cases are accepted on behalf of either claimant or defendant or as a Single Joint Expert.

He prepares reports for Scottish and English Courts of Law, as well as the Royal Courts of Jersey. His reports are scrupulously independent of source of instruction with a balanced opinion and cover the whole range of opinion on the subject, if one exists. All claimants are dealt with in a sympathetic and professional manner.

Mr Syed welcomes formal and informal discussions with the legal parties to help resolve matters for the court. Clinics are located in London (multiple sites), Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling.
