Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon
Holding the position of lead consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Barnsley District General Hospital, as well as honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Sheffield, Mr Hany Ismaiel has extensive experience in orthopaedic and trauma surgery with primary interests in upper limb injury.
Mr Ismaiel has undertaken medico legal instructions since 1993 and has experience of dealing with vast and complex cases. He acts on behalf of both claimant and defendant and as a Single Joint Expert.
Mr Ismaiel has made many court appearances over the years providing his expert opinion on matters relating to personal injury and medical negligence cases. The majority of his reports are produced for personal injuries, complex injuries, sports and industrial injury claims.
He provides secure virtual clinical e-consultations, opinions, second opinions, and e-medicolegal work through most of the available e-platforms.
Mr Ismaiel has attended Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness training and regularly attends medico-legal courses and medico-legal expert training, and has the Cardiff University Bond Solon certificate for expert witnesses.
He prides himself with the fact that regardless of being instructed by a claimant, defendant or jointly, he gives the same opinion and always prepares unbiased reports.
Prior to the Wolfe's reforms (now known as CPR45), Mr Ismaiel prepared claimant and defendant reports. When these reforms came about, the conversion to independent reporting was natural.
Mr Ismaiel sees medico-legal clients in consulting rooms in London, Essex, Cardiff, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Worcestershire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, West Midlands and also online. All venues are within reach of public transport, city centres and easily accessible from motorways. He can also see patients from further afield.
