Whether you need a psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker, paediatrician or therapist, Carter Brown will ensure you get the best independent expert. Formerly known as Carter Brown Associates, we have a reputation for excellence.

Since 2001 we’ve been the leading provider of psychologists, psychiatrists, paediatricians and independent social workers for expert witness work. Our medico-legal work has covered many branches of the legal system: family, criminal, immigration, mental health, personal injury, probate, employment and more.

Our expert witnesses are subject to a rigorous recruitment process – so we check that they’re qualified, insured and up to date with their memberships. They’re based throughout England and Wales so you can be assured to get the right expert with the right expertise, local to you. You can search for an expert online and download their CV, or call our Referrals Team who will provide you with recommendations, as well as costs estimates, CVs and timescales.

Once you’ve instructed us, a Case Handler will liaise between you and the expert to ensure that the assessment and report process goes smoothly. When the report is complete, it doesn’t leave our hands until our dedicated Quality Assurance Team have checked it. They will check for grammar, presentation and spelling, but also for content, ensuring that the expert report you get is robust, evidence-based and analytical.

‘We have been very happy with the service we have received from Carter Brown – everything has been efficiently and professionally managed and Dr H‘s report was very detailed and well written. I will certainly use your service again when the need arises.’ – Solicitor, London, 2015
