Mr Kim Hakin FRCS FRCOphth
Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon
Mr Kim Hakin is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon providing NHS and private ophthalmic services in Taunton, and is available for medico-legal consultations in London and Taunton.
He deals with all aspects of ophthalmology, with special interests in the management of cataracts, ocular trauma, eyelid and lacrimal surgery, including cosmetic eyelid surgery, facial aesthetic injection and laser treatments.
Mr Hakin has the Expert Witness Certificate from Cardiff University/Bond Solon, and been providing medico-legal reports for over 20 years, providing around 200 reports per year, with a usual turnaround time of under two weeks. He has produced many reports for the GMC, MDU, MPS, NHS Litigation Authority, and Welsh Health Legal Services as well as many legal firms and agencies.
To date he would estimate his ratio to be around 50:50 claimant:defendant, with occasional Single Joint Expert work, and is able to see patients in London and Taunton, or from wherever it may arise, although travelling afar would need a little planning.
