Mark O’Hara is a Chartered Surveyor and Managing Director of Osborne Irish Associates and has more than 25 years experience providing expert evidence reports and oral evidence at court. He has completed training for experts in court practice, the requirements set out in Part 35 of the CPR, and Code of Guidance for Experts.

Mark regularly provides independent and impartial advice to the Court as a single joint expert. He is qualified to produce reports suited to both mediation and court proceedings.

Instructions are accepted for Claimant/Applicant and Defendant/Respondent to include Single Joint Expert reports. The reports are provided as soon as possible after receipt of instructions and careful liaison with instructing parties is ensured. Mark is also able to offer pre-litigation advice, for example assisting in the identification and/or limitation of any claim for a client who seeks to confirm the veracity and scope of their claim.

Mark can act in cases involving:

  • Professional negligence claims
  • Matrimonial proceedings
  • Partnership dissolution
  • Charities Act valuations
  • Valuations for Housing Associations and mortgage lenders
  • Valuations for private, corporate and third-party clients such as accountants about tax liabilities
  • Portfolio valuations in Civil and Matrimonial Proceedings to assist the parties and the court to determine the division of assets
  • Probate valuations for calculating inheritance tax
  • Capital Gains Tax valuations
  • Back-dated or retrospective valuations
  • Forensic valuations for civil litigation to resolve property disputes, allegations of professional negligence and lease queries
  • Environmental issues and dilapidations
  • Asbestos contamination

Mark O'Hara is also a CAA approved UAV (Drone) Pilot and is qualified to carry out drone survey inspections and provide photographic and video evidence.
