Mr Peter Broad
Consultant Marine Engineer and Surveyor
Mr Peter Broad is a Consultant Marine Engineer and Surveyor who has specialised in ship building and shiprepair for over 30 years. He is a specialist in all types of LNG vessel construction, containment systems (MOSS, Mk III & NO 96) and all types of propulsion systems, as well as conventional tankers, LPG tankers, Bulk carriers, RO-RO and Ro-Pax vessels.
Mr Broad is an experienced Marine Surveyor with a background as a Class Surveyor and now independent Hull & Machinery insurance and marine warranty surveyor.
Mr Broad is the current President of the International Institute of Marine Surveying (2022-24).
Mr Broad has 15 years experience in undertaking expert witness instructions, including the preparation of expert reports and giving evidence in UK courts, in cases relating to ship building, ship repair and ship operations, including failure investigation and health and safety issues.
He has completed the Cardiff University Bond Solon Civil Expert Witness Certificate and has represented ship owners and shipyards in claims resolutions and arbitrations.
Mr Broad has experience of working in shipbuilding and shiprepair across Asia, the Middle East and UK, in the Philippines, Dubai, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, China and UK.
