Michael Ireland is a specialist Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor and Director of Walker Scott Ireland, having been a Partner of Knight Frank LLP in their Edinburgh office before setting up his own practice. He retains a large range of experience in prime residential, agricultural and rural commercial property. He has spent more than twenty-five years undertaking sales, lettings and valuations on residential, rural and agricultural property along with rural property consultancy work throughout Scotland.
During his career he has acted as an expert witness in specialist prime residential, agricultural and rural property valuations, located in all areas of Scotland and is experienced in providing expert witness valuation reports for court purposes, both in Sheriff Court and Court of Session cases. He has given oral evidence on valuation matters in Sheriff Court and Court of Session cases and has presented oral evidence on the Scottish Land market to MPs at Westminster. He has also prepared expert witness precognitions for Public Local Inquiries.
Michael qualified as a Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor in 1998 and his extensive experience gives him in-depth knowledge of rural Scotland and its property markets.
He is an RICS Registered Valuer and RICS Registered Expert Witness. In addition, he is an appointed valuer on the Tenant Farming Commissioner’s Panel of Valuers.
