Upper GI and Bariatric Surgeon
Mr Sam Mehta works as a Consultant Upper GI and Bariatric Surgeon at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Over the last seven years, he has been an expert witness in various medico-legal cases as well as provided opinions as an expert witness to the Coroners Court.
Mr Mehta has expertise in surgery for weight loss (bariatric surgery), cancer of the oesophagus, cancer of the stomach, acid reflux, gallstones, hernia, achalasia, gastroparesis and abdominal emergencies, such as appendicitis and trauma.
He has received Bond Solon training in writing medical expert reports within the last five years and aims to provide a rapid turnaround of reports with an average time between receipt of notes and report of between 6 to 8 weeks.
Mr Mehta is fully aware of the Civil Procedure Rules and the contents of the Woolf Report and the principles that would be applied to the case. He is a fully qualified surgical specialist with extensive academic, clinical and surgical experience, full secretarial support service, transparent fee structure and an ability to undertake medical assessment of clients where appropriate.
Mr Mehta can act on behalf of either claimant or defendant or as a Single Joint Expert.
