Mr Nigel Kiely is a Consultant Adult and Children's Orthopaedic Surgeon at Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, where he has been in post since January 2004.
Mr Kiely began medicolegal work in May 2004.
Mr Kiely undertakes medical negligence cases related to paediatric orthopaedics and young adult hip disorders. He is instructed by defence and claimant lawyers, as well as organisations such as the NHSLA and Medical Indemnity societies. He is an approved expert for the GMC. His paediatric orthopaedic negligence work typically involves cases such as late presenting hip dislocation, cerebral palsy, slipped upper femoral epiphysis and trauma cases.
Mr Kiely is asked to write reports detailing breach of duty, causation as well as condition and prognosis. These relate to conditions such as femoroacetabular impingement and hip dysplasia.
