Our Principal Technical Consultant Andrew Pitman has over 30 years of experience in research, development, consultancy, wood product market evaluation, auditing, authoring, and training within the timber industry.
He has experience in product development from lab-scale through to commercial, building and managing research and development teams; commissioning and undertaking product research and development; data analysis, interpretation and presentation;
His specialist skills are FTIR, light and scanning electron microscopy, visual strength grading wood, kiln drying and wood microbiology.
Andrew has acted as expert witness in several legal cases relating to premature failure of timber in service and presented evidence in the Technology & Construction Court, Royal Courts of Justice.
All reports comply with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules and may be used for litigation, although they more frequently assist our clients in achieving settlement without the need to proceed to court.
