Captain Raj Chada is the managing director of Curamus Global Marine Services Pte Ltd, set up after a career in the breakbulk, project and liner services with hands on commercial experience. This, after 20 years at sea, including seven years in command with NOL Singapore on bulkers and container vessels on global liner services.
He is a member of the Baltic Exchange Expert Witness Association (BEWA), a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (FICS) and a member of the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA). His voluntary professional activities include being on the management committee of the Mission to Seafarers Singapore (MtSS) and the Honorary Auditor of the United Nations Association of Singapore (UNAS).
Captain Chada has undertaken several expert witness instructions on charter party disputes (bulk and container market cases), involving recovery of disputed charter hires by recreating parallel voyages to prove Time Charter Equivalent (TCE) returns for ‘lost’ voyages, and bunker disputes for several globally recognised marine law firms, having worked with them over the last 30 years on various maritime issues.
