Scottish solicitors vote for ‘Tesco law’

Solicitors voted to allow a minority of external ownership of law firms at the Law Society of Scotland’s AGM last week.

The motion were narrowly passed in favour of allowing what are called alternative business structures. The motion was ratified as policy at a meeting immediately following the AGM.

It works with both people able to type on a keyboard in their own language at the same time and have the words translated and displayed for the other person.

Study finds alcohol abuse amongst UK forces

British troops serving in Afghanistan or Iraq are far more likely to become alcohol abusers when they return home than fellow troops.

A study led by Simon Wessely of the Institute of Psychiatry at King's College London, found that PTSD among British armed forces were stable at around 4 percent, but there is evidence of higher rates of mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, and alcohol misuse.
