A study conducted by YouGov on behalf of British Orthodontic Society (BOS) found that 45% of adults are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth and 20% would consider orthodontic treatment. The research was carried out to mark the launch of the first National Orthodontic Week in March. The survey canvassed the opinions of 2,050 people split into eight categories according to sex, age, social status, geographical location, working status, marital status and number of children in the household.

Children at risk of exclusion from school could have autistic behavioural traits, according to new research.
The study, published in the April issue of the British Journal of Psychiatry, suggests that up to a third of children who are at risk of being excluded from school for disruptive behaviour could have undiagnosed social communication problems of an autistic type.

Medical campaigning charity Asthma UK has called for teachers to be given mandatory asthma training following the inquest into the death of Samuel Linton at school from an asthma attack. The inquest verdict was that of ‘death from natural causes, contributed to significantly by neglect’.
