Mr Tait has recently retired from the NHS to concentrate on his medicolegal practice. As a consultant orthopaedic surgeon he specialised in shoulder and knee surgery. Mr Tait has a medico-legal practice of 25 years standing in West/Central Scotland. He writes approximately 15 reports monthly and attends court rarely. He is instructed by solicitors from across Scotland and England, and recently Ireland.
He is instructed both directly by solicitors and through several agencies. Mr Tait specialises in personal injury litigation and will also report on 20-25 cases of clinical negligence annually. Waiting times for medico-legal appointments are presently 3-4 weeks and 2-3 weeks for reports, after receipt of medical records. He consults at Hillington in Glasgow, and in Ayr.
