National Federation of the Blind of the United Kingdom NFBUK is a nonpolitical self-help campaigning organisation and registered charity of blind, deaf-blind and partially sighted people. Established in 1947, the NFBUK aims to improve the overall quality and welfare of daily life for all blind people in the UK. It aims to do this through campaigning, representation and negotiating. This includes trying through peer-to-peer support, to reduce the feelings of isolation and loneliness often experienced by those with sight loss. Imagine the frustration if you were unable to read this for yourself! Our charity trustees are all unpaid volunteers. By donating or leaving us a legacy in a will, you can enable us to deliver our objectives. Living without sight is a big enough hurdle to overcome but with your financial help and assistance we can reduce the magnitude of this hurdle. Sight Research UK We are a community of supporters, researchers, patients, healthcare professionals, and fundraisers, working together towards our shared goal: to bring forward the day when sight loss and blindness are a thing of the past. For over 35 years, we have been funding pioneering research into the causes of eye disease, in order to develop better prevention methods and more effective treatments for children and adults. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have been able to invest more than £18 million in research projects that are bringing scientists ever closer to answering some of the most fundamental questions about eye health and eye disease. By supporting Sight Research UK, you can help to eradicate sight loss and blindness for good.
