Dr Thomas Verghese

Dr Thomas Verghese is a general adult psychiatrist with over 10 years experience. He has a specialist interest in medical education, sports psychiatry, health-tech and mental health law and previously worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the inpatient setting. He is currently an NHS general adult psychiatrist in Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and a Sports Psychiatrist with Lancashire Thunder women's cricket team.
He is an award-winning psychiatrist and educator who brings his NHS clinical expertise to the classroom as an associate teacher at the University of Liverpool. His passion for medical education shines through, from receiving a PGCert in Medical Education at Harvard Medical School to winning St George's University Undergraduate teaching award in 2016.
Before starting TrustedPsych he acted as medical advisor in the development and delivery of COG, an ADHD platform and app through which assessments can be booked. TrustedPsych uses automated booking processes and Dr Verghese's assessments are therefore significantly cheaper for clients, more convenient for administrators and provide consistently comprehensive and well-structured psychiatric reports in a timely fashion. Dr Vergehse works within Legal Aid funded rates.
Dr Verghese has nine years medico legal experience completing psychiatric reports, with additional experience in prison assessments, as well as in preparing medical reports and delivering medical evidence at Mental Health Review Tribunals.
Dr Verghese has provided specific independent expert witness work across various fields including immigration, family law, housing law and personal injury, as well as providing capacity assessments.
