FHC Experts for Law & Mediation – Celebrating 25 Years

25 years e1705424975566As part of our 25 years trading celebrations, Forensic Healthcare Services have chosen Farleigh Hospice as our nominated charity. The team will be taking part in various activities throughout the year, such as 10k walks, sky dives and linking with local schools to raise money.

We are hoping to reach our target of £10,000 with FHC and its experts making donations to the charity as well.

Farleigh Hospice is a charity very close to both Judy Payne-James' and Alex Earl's hearts as they unfortunately lost their mums in 2022. Without the care and dedication from Farleigh Hospice, their mums would not have been provided with the vital help and comfort they needed in their last few weeks. Supporting Farleigh was an easy choice to make.

A little bit about us

Forensic Healthcare Services Ltd (FHC) was established in 1999 by a group of doctors (including Professor Jason Payne-James, Medical Director) experienced in law, medicine and science to provide training, consultancy and expert witnesses within the justice setting.

For twenty-five years, FHC has been one of the leading providers of medical, scientific and other experts in all areas of the law. We take instruction in the UK and internationally from a wide range of solicitors and barristers for all matters including personal injury, medical and clinical negligence, criminal, childcare/family, prison healthcare, human rights, torture and extradition proceedings, and road traffic matters. We also take instruction from many public bodies such as NHS Resolution, the Legal Aid Agency, the Prison & Probation Ombudsman, Service Prosecution Authority, Insurance Companies, Loss Adjusters, Local Authorities and the General Medical Council. You name it, we’ve done it!

We have worked extensively with the majority of police services across the UK, often working in collaboration or following referral from HM Coroners and the National Crime Agency. We have over 3,000 available experts, a national panel of primary care physicians, including GP’s, providing reports for, and giving evidence in, over 300 specialities involving scientific, technical and paediatric specialisations to name but a few.

FHC has huge experience in working on historic abuse cases having provided opinions, for example, for the Mau Mau Kenyan Group Litigation and the Baha Mousa Inquiry. We have particular expertise and skills in managing complex, multi-faceted cases requiring a range of experts which is frequently required in the criminal and civil justice setting both in military and civil courts. We have sourced appropriate experts for cases which include, but are not limited to, murder, rape, GBH, ABH, threatening behaviour, sexual offences, PTSD, death in custody, Taser, CS and PAVA spray, restraint, positional asphyxia, excited delirium syndrome, child safeguarding and protection, child cruelty, drug and scientific analysis and fitness to plead.
