Epilepsy

St Elizabeth's

St Elizabeth’s is the only school, college and home in the UK for those struggling to manage their epilepsy. Some of our residents could be having as many as 40 seizures each day. Many of our residents have not ever had a seizure free day in the whole life. Our medical team are on call 24 hours a day, and our care teams offer one to one support. We offer education, leisure activities and work opportunities for all, as we believe that everyone has this right regardless of circumstances.

Many adults and children come to St Elizabeth’s experiencing multiple daily seizures, and our medical team use their vast expertise and experience to gain control of the seizures and many leave us to go on to lead normal lives. For those that can’t do this, some as young as five years old, St Elizabeth’s can become their lifetime home. Some of our residents have been here for over 70 years.

St Elizabeth’s was established in 1903 by the Daughters of the Cross and whilst funding is received to cover the essential costs of education, care and residential accommodation, we heavily rely on donations for all other aspects of our work from specialist equipment, specialist therapists to purpose built facilities.
